Introduction to Visual Studies

This required seminar for all first-year Visual Studies graduate students serves as an introduction to the discipline and the department, providing students with an overview of the field's development, its issues of central concern, and an introduction to its dominant research methods. The seminar will feature intensive readings, much student-led discussion, and exposure to some of the primary texts instrumental in the development of the field.
