Matthew Simms (BA UCSC art history and studio art 1990, PhD Harvard, 1998) is Professor of Art History at CSU Long Beach. His publications include "Between Drawing and Painting: Cézanne's Watercolors" (Yale, 2008) and a monograph entitled "Robert Irwin: A Conditional Art" (Yale, 2016). He is also the editor of Irwin's writings, "Notes Toward a Conditional Art" (Getty, 2011).
