Diana has been selected as an IGHERT Fellow for the academic years 2014 - 2016. The theme for this fellowship program is: Indigeneity in an Expanded Field: Transnationality, Migration, and Human/Nonhuman Belonging. This program brings together faculty and doctoral students from four institutions: the Institute of Humanities Research (UCSC), the Center for 21st Century Studies the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee; the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany; and the Humanities Research Centre at the Australian National University in Canberra. During the two years, participants will collaborate in workshops, conferences and courses held at these four centers. The IGHERT Fellowship will also support Diana’s dissertation research on the performance and embodiment of time by the Ancient Maya. Diana is also interested in the traces of these concepts and practices found in contemporary Maya visual culture.
