Jordan Reznick presented “Selfie Suburbia: Whites Online in the Twenty-first Century” at the Kern Conference on Visual Communication at Rochester Institute of Technology. This year’s conference was dedicated to explorations of the “Selfie.” Reznick’s paper described how white Americans share their snapshot photographs online in ways that affirm the cultural narratives that legitimize and naturalize the ideals of whiteness.
