Kristen Laciste hired as the Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow for Smarthistory

In January 2023, Kristen Laciste started working at Smarthistory, the Center for Public Art History. As a non-profit organization, Smarthistory creates accessible, engaging, and free educational resources about the histories of art from around the world. To further this aim, Kristen will contribute essays and videos to the section, Arts of Africa. So far, she has contributed essays on works by Malick Sidibé and Santu Mofokeng, both of whom are photographers she has introduced to students in courses taught in the History of Art and Visual Culture Department at UCSC.
