Maggie Wander receives Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowship from the Social Science Research Council

May 28, 2020

Maggie Wander (2015 cohort) was recently awarded the Mellon International Dissertation Research Fellowship from the Social Science Research Council. This fellowship provides funding to conduct 6-9 months of continuous international research and 1-3 months of research in the United States. Maggie's dissertation looks at contemporary artists in Oceania and its diaspora who interrogate the colonial underpinnings of climate change. She will use this award to travel to Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, Hawaiʻi, and Washington, D.C. to conduct archival research, interview artists and curators, and visit museum collections. While Maggie's exact travel plans are tentative due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she is very excited for this opportunity to conduct the research necessary to complete her dissertation.
