Dean's Award group

Dean's and Chancellor's Undergraduate Award

These awards recognize exceptional achievement in research and other creative activities in order to encourage scholarship and promote research as an important part of undergraduate education.  Awarded by Chancellor George R. Blumenthal and Dean of the Arts, Susan Solt.

 

Department Highest Honors and Honors

Highest Honors and Honors in the major are awarded in the History of Art & Visual Culture major to students who have shown a consistently outstanding level of performance throughout their coursework and maintained a superior GPA in the major.  These distinctions are earned by only a small percentage of each graduating class.   

 

Honors in the Senior Exit Seminar

Honors in the Senior Exit Requirement are awarded to students who excelled in the seminar they designated to meet their Senior Exit Requirement. 

 

HAVC/Porter College Scholarship

These fellowships, funded by Porter College, are available to Porter College students majoring in History of Art & Visual Culture.  Eligible students are invited to submit proposals to enhance their intellectual and educational experience.  Scholarships are granted on the basis of the proposed project's promise, the applicant's record of achievement, and faculty recommendation.

 

Patricia and Rowland Rebele Fellowship

These grants, generously funded by Patricia and Rowland Rebele, are available to History of Art & Visual Culture majors regardless of college affiliation.  Students may request support for research, travel for study purposes, costs related to accepting an internship, or expenses that aid the successful completion of their studies. Grants are awarded on the basis of the proposal's merit, the applicant's record of achievement, and faculty  recommendation.
