Mary Thomas Awarded Dissertation Fellowship

March 17, 2016

Mary Thomas has been named a recipient of the 2016 Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellows Dissertation Grant by the Woodrow Wilson National Scholarship Foundation. The fellowship will support the completion of her dissertation “Enacted Sites: Art and the Visualization of Spatial Justice in Los Angeles, 1966-2014” during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Mary was named a recipient of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship in 2009 while completing her B.A. in Art History at Cornell University. The fellowship supported a research project in which she examined the spatial contexts of Chicana/o art through museum exhibitions and murals. Since then, she has remained active in the fellowship's network through participation in the program’s graduate initiatives.
