HAVC students selected for a year-long internship with UCSC's Institute of the Arts and Sciences

October 17, 2016

HAVC students Gracia Brown, Lucy Ashton, and Sophia Dimatteo were selected for a year-long paid internship with the Institute of the Arts and Sciences. The Institute of the Arts and Sciences is an arts-based interdisciplinary exhibition and event forum at UCSC. IAS undergraduate interns work to promote and assist with the IAS events and art experiences on campus, particularly acting as ambassadors to the student body. They intern with the IAS’s artist residency program, working with artists and IAS staff to create innovative arts programming on campus.

The 2016-17 interns will be involved with the Crochet Coral Reef, a participatory art and science project created by Margaret Wertheim and Christine Wertheim of the Institute For Figuring, which will be exhibited at the Sesnon Gallery and the Seymour Marine Science Center. This internship was made possible with support from the Clare Wedding Student Enrichment Endowment.
