Dr. David Ga'oupu Palaita, Ph.D., is assistant professor in the department of Interdisciplinary Studies at the City College of San Francisco and adjunct professor in the department of Ethnic Studies at the College of San Mateo. He is coordinator of the Critical Pacific Islands & Oceania Studies programs at both institutions. His talk entitled "Ocean Narratives + Story-telling through Siapo/Ngatu" will focus on engaging with kupesi/'upeti patterns as a way of connecting with the ocean archive.
