From the instructor: This advanced seminar will focus on U.S. artists, mostly modern and contemporary, who consider the concept of freedom. What is freedom? What is un-freedom? How has it been depicted? Thematic topics will focus on different media including painting, sculpture, photography, installation art, and public art.
